Where
We are holding a special weekend at an old convent only 10 minutes train trip from Sydney’s Central Station. Appreciating the demands homeschooling mothers have on their time, we have organised this occasion for you to spend one weekend away to reflect on your homeschool and consider new ideas and opportunities.

Accommodation
This is a two-day retreat but we know some of you will be commuting to Sydney for it.
Accommodation is not included in the conference price.
Mary MacKillop Place is a little oasis in the heart of a busy city. They have budget accommodation – it won’t last long so be quick! There are also lots of options available in North Sydney.
Who Can Come
This retreat is specifically tailored to women who are exploring home education or looking to reassess, connect, and equip themselves with new teaching tools. Home educating dads can attend, but please be aware that most of our talks focus on the mother’s role in home education.
Sorry No Children.
This is a retreat for over eighteens. However, mothers with their nursing babies are welcome.

Our theme is Sustaining Your Homeschool.
We will be sharing ideas about successful homeschooling and the atmosphere of our home. The Charlotte Mason’s educational method is also highlighted but we are not strictly Charlotte Mason in our approach, so you do not need to be following her method to come.
You do not need to be a My Homeschool course member to attend.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a faith based conference?
All are welcome, of all faiths or none. The topics covered will be on the themes of a home education, worldview and family culture. All of our speakers are Christian women, but this conference is not exclusive to Christians.
Can I attend one day?
You can attend the full conference or attend only one day. We have one day and full conference ticket options.
Can I attend online? Will the sessions be recorded?
This year we are offering a live streaming ticket for the main Saturday speaker sessions. If there is a technical failure in the livestream, we will upload the video in the next week.
You will need to have a Facebook account to participate in this option.
Online attendees will also have access to our exclusive conference Facebook chat group where you can participate in the behind the scenes events of the day. You will also get an online goodie bag with some special conference extras.
Bonus: We are also including our 3 keynote sessions from our previous conference.
Is there childcare? Can I bring my baby?
Childcare is not provided at the retreat.
Breastfed babies under 12 months are welcome to attend with their mothers.
Is there an Expo of homeschool resources?
My Homeschool will have a large display of resources and living books on display for you to look at. We will also be sharing some student notebooks that children have prepared during their homeschooling journey.

What Food Is Provided
The following meals are included in your ticket price.
Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea is provided on Saturday.

Menu
A menu will be released one week before the retreat begins.
A gluten and dairy free option is provided but please bring your own snacks if you have very specific dietary needs.
Some of the accommodation has a kitchenette if you want a place to store your own food.
Saturday Night
There is no dinner provided on Saturday night.
If you are staying at Mary MacKillop Place then we encourage you to connect with others and find one of the many restaurants available nearby. Connections can be made in the exclusive My Homeschool Retreat Facebook Group.
Can I get a refund if I can't come or I change my mind?
All refunds incur a $10 admin fee.
Full refunds minus the admin fee can be issued up to 2 weeks before the conference.
After that time no refunds are available but you can pass the ticket on to a friend or try to sell it yourself.
Can someone pick me up? Is there parking?
We don’t organise transport but the venue is easy to get to by public transport and a it’s a convenient train trip from Sydney Airport.
